Step 1: The Middle Band (a.k.a. The Calm Boss 😎)
SMA = (P1 + P2 + ... + P20) / 20
👉 Translation:
Add the last 20 prices… divide by 20. Done.
👉 Think of it as the market saying:
“On average… this is where we are.” 📢
No drama. No overthinking. Just chill 😌
Step 2: Standard Deviation (a.k.a. Market Mood Swings 😵💫)
SD = sqrt( sum( (P - SMA)^2 ) / 20 )
👉 Translation (stress-free version):
“How far is price wandering away from the average?”
👉 In real life:
- Calm market 😌 → Prices stay close → Low SD
- Wild market 🤯 → Prices jumping everywhere → High SD
Basically… this tells you how moody the market is 🎭
Step 3: Upper & Lower Bands (The Security Guards 🚔)
Upper Band = SMA + (2 * SD)
Lower Band = SMA - (2 * SD)
Lower Band = SMA - (2 * SD)
👉 Translation:
Take the average… then add or subtract the market’s “mood swings.”
👉 These bands are like:
- “Whoa, too expensive!” 🚫
- “Hey, that’s cheap!” 🛒
Think of them as the market’s boundary lines ⚠️
